The time has come to start packing (if you haven't started yet) and to get ready to leave on Thursday morning. I have just got off the phone with Lakeland Village this afternoon to take care some last minute details and they are ready to welcome us, all 84 of us. These last couple days have been really hectic for some of us as we have to take care some last few hurdles, and this has proven to be a very exhaustive process, physically and mentally.

Thanksgiving Day is on Thursday, and in the midst of all the busyness and craziness, it's very easy to forget the power of thanksgiving, to be thankful when things are good, and to be thankful when things are bad. Sure, most of us give thanks here and there - especially when things are going well. But can you imagine being thankful in every circumstance? Think about it - the ability to have gratitude on the inside no matter what is going on with your outside circumstances.

So when your luggage is packed, your car is gassed, your clothes are folded nicely, your skis are waxed, and your shoes are shined, as the last minute preparation, please, I'm begging you to spend some time alone by yourself, with your family, or with your closest friends, to do two things. Sing to Him and pray to Him. Grab your favorite music, sing a verse or two, and close with a thanksgiving prayer. Don't know what to sing? Try the traditional 'Amazing Grace'.

Then, after you have done just that, please review the things you have to do on Thursday morning.

One
If you're going to the church, be there at 9am

Two
If you're going by yourself, be at Lakeland at 3pm the latest

Three
When you get to Lakeland, call Mona or myself.


PEACE, PATIENCE, and SELF-CONTROL, the three things we are going to talk at REFUEL 2. And if you want to start early, you could start thinking which of these three you're lacking the most. Mine is patience.

Today is Wednesday, November 9, and that means in exactly 15 days, we will all be going to South Lake Tahoe to start our REFUEL 2 journey. The journey that will REFUEL each and every one of us and to make us look ‘good’. God’s plan for an extreme makeover is an INSIDE JOB…and it promises to make you “look” GOOD!

The weather is getting colder and the snow has been falling this last weekend.

The preparation is about 93.7% complete. The accommodation has been settled. The transportation has been organized. The food has been arranged. And the speakers are all working hard to prepare the materials.

There are a couple things we would like to bring to your attention:

ONE.
The briefing will be held after the Sunday Service on November 20. This is really important! Please remind your friends to attend this briefing. We will be talking about the departure schedule on Thursday morning, Nov. 24, the carpool arrangement, what to bring, and other important information. Sunday Service starts at 4pm.

TWO.
For those of you who have not paid (you know who you are), please submit your payment ASAP to me, Mona, Apul, or Pamaya.

Please include REFUEL 2 in your daily prayers as the preparation continues. There are still a few hurdles we have to tackle and we need a prayer support from all of you.

Pendaftaran telah ditutup kemarin Minggu 23 Oktober 2011. Jumlah peserta terakhir yang masuk adalah 79 orang, termasuk anak-anak. Untuk perbandingan, tahun lalu jumlah peserta adalah 53 orang. Terima kasih untuk semua pendaftaran yang masuk. Acara ini tidak akan bisa berlangsung tanpa dukungan saudara-saudara sekalian.

What are the next steps from now until the departure day?

Panitia sangat mengharapkan dukungan doa baik dari para peserta maupun mereka yang belum ikut kali ini. Banyak sekali persiapan yang harus kami lakukan dari sekarang sampai 24 Nopember nanti. Kami harus memulai menyusun daftar kamar. Panitia transportasi sudah mulai bekerja untuk menyusun daftar carpool bagi mereka yang butuh transportasi. Panitia konsumsi juga sedang menyusun menu-menu makanan. Dan bahan-bahan materi REFUEL 2 juga sedang dipersiapkan oleh para pembicara. Akan masih banyak sekali tantangan-tantangan yang harus kami lewati dan doa-doa yang masuk akan banyak membantu kami semua.

Untuk para peserta yang belum membayar, mohon secepatnya melunasi biaya pendaftaran. Hari Minggu, 30 Oktober, kami mengharapkan semua biaya pendaftaran sudah masuk. Check atau cash bisa diberikan ke Apul, Pamaya, Gunardi, Mona, atau Arnold. Check payable to “GKI San Francisco” dengan note REFUEL.

Briefing keberangkatan akan diadakan setelah Kebaktian Minggu, 20 Nopember 2011. Kebaktian Minggu mulai pukul 4 sore. Karena pentingnya acara briefing ini, panitia mengharapkan seluruh kehadiran peserta sekalian.
